Changing of the Leaves

If Aroostook County is the crown of Maine, then the County’s fall leaves are the jewels of the crown. Each year people from around the country flock to northern Maine to view the majestic changing of the leaves.

The area’s state park, Aroostook State Park, offers hiking trails that provide great views from atop Quoggy Jo Mountain. Taking the ski lift up Mars Hill Mountain is another great way to see the autumn leaf splendor.

Maine’s department of tourism publishes a report each September that details the season’s outlooks. For more information on the upcoming season, please contact gale.ross@maine.gov or 207-287-5266.
